Landscape is a design and an art tradition, practiced by landscape designers, combining nature and culture. Landscape design typically involves artistic composition and artisanship, horticultural finesse and expertise, and emphasis on detailed site involvement from conceptual stages through to final construction. In this workshop the interior design students of VI semester were taught to develop the skill of using and integrating landscape elements and plant materials to transform different interior spaces through interior landscaping. The students were assigned an individual flower arrangement project as a part of their curriculum.
Flower arrangement is a tribute to nature and her profound creation – an attempt to establish a communion with nature, by capturing some of splendor and framing it in an individually conceived design. As such, it may also be considered an art, as it invokes the aesthetic faculties of the mind. But most of all, it is pastime that is rewarding and evolving.
